Day 487: Thanksgiving Weekend.
Posted by
Lindsay Brooke.
This week was Thanksgiving and I was so grateful to have such a long weekend of pure relaxation before finals begin. I didn't go home for Thanksgiving, but our church put on Thanksgiving dinner for us. I spent the afternoon eating a more traditional thanksgiving meal and then hung out on North Shore for the rest of the afternoon. It was a beautiful day:)
That night, I spent eating more of an Island Thanksgiving meal. The people who put it on were polynesian, and cooked their turkey underground, also known as an imu. There was also lots of coconut bread, lau lau, chicken, rice, etc. It was SO GOOD. Turkey underground takes the cake for me. I love it prepared that way.
I went to North Shore pretty much every single day this week. It was so much fun and I have been getting rather tan from it. The waves are getting bigger, which means winter is coming soon!
I am so grateful for living in a place like this and being able to go to the beach whenever I want. I have such awesome friends and family. The experiences I have had this year are ones that I am grateful to have experienced. Life is good.
