Day 154: How I got that scar on my leg.

Today is the start of my goodbyes. Can I just say that I HATE saying goodbye?! I honestly think finals week is the worst week ever. I'm studying for finals, while packing, and saying goodbye to everyone. It's just not a good week.

I leave Wednesday night and I'll be back home Thursday morning. Does this mean I'm going to stop blogging? No. Instead, I'm just not going to list what day it is because I'm not in Hawaii anymore. Obviously. But I'll start that up again when I come back. I'm actually impressed with my blogging abilities. I have blogged every single sunday since coming out to school here. I honestly didn't think I would. And, my blog has become prettier as the weeks have gone on. Go me.

I'm going on a lot of trips this summer, so I'll blog about those. I've gotta say, I'm ready to be back on the mainland. I'm excited to see my family and friends again. But I'm sure going to miss Hawaii.

Since it's Memorial weekend and I don't have any Tuesday/Thursday classes, I have a 4 day weekend. sweet.

Friday, I hung out with one of my roommates and some friends. We went to gunstock ranch for a wedding reception and I met a lot of new people that night. It was actually a really fun Friday night.

Saturday I went to North Shore with 2 of my roommates. It was perfect weather. We went to Sharks Cove first. When we started walking towards the beach, I somehow lost my balance and FELL down. Hard. It was pretty funny, but I did land on a rock, and now my leg is pretty torn up. And it sure did hurt. I'm not sure how it happened, but I think back on it and laugh randomly throughout the day. I am a klutz for sure. We then got our acai bowls at Kava Roots. I got strawberries put in mine and it was divine. I'm going to miss that place. We then went to waimea bay. It was so hot, so beautiful, and so perfect. I could have stayed there all day. We went in the water and laid out for hours. It was a perfect day.

I have quite a bit of studying, packing, and cleaning left to do before I leave. I wish school was over already so I could enjoy my 4 day weekend.

It's been a great term and I'm so glad I stayed. I made a lot of new friends and learned more about myself. AND. I got really tan. I can't wait to come back for fall:)

Day 147: Slightly Stoopid.

tonight is the series finale of LOST.
weird.

I've been following LOST since I was in high school. When I knew I was coming out to school here, I told everyone that I was going to find the cast. And I did. I've gotta say, I'm a little over LOST and I'm excited to see it come to an end. But I still get excited when I hear stories of people telling me that they ran into John Locke somewhere in town.

I also have a week and a half left of school.
weird.

I'm excited to go home. I've been talking to my friends and my family this week and it makes me excited to see them once again. I am really going to miss Hawaii for the next 3 months. I enjoy meeting people from all over the world. seriously. people are from EVERYWHERE here. I enjoy going to BBQs on the beach and ward activities at Kahuku Grill. I am going to miss the food and going to reggae concerts. last night I saw slightly stoopid. it was a sick concert. I'm going to miss pancake parties at my house and laying out on my hammock. I'm going to miss having the beach a 2 minute walk and seeing the ocean everyday.

but I will be back. and that makes leaving that much easier.

Day 140: Perfect Beach Weather.

This week was just BEAUTIFUL!!!!

I went to the beach everyday this week. Well, except for Friday. I had a test to take and I had stats homework which always takes me days, so I was stuck at school all day. BUT. I'm so happy the weather has finally decided to be nice!! How I have missed the beach.

Saturday I spent 3 and half hours at the beach and then I went to Foodfest that night. Foodfest is where all the clubs at school make plates of food from their culture and sell it. I got some food from Fiji and a crepe which is French. It was so good.

Now that I'm down to two weeks left, I'm trying to use all of my stuff. I've been squirting out a little more shampoo and I paint my nails every other day to get rid of my nail polish remover. I'm such a nerd.

I'm hoping this week will be just as nice... hope it's sunny on your side too!!

Top 10 Things I'm going to miss for the next 3 months:

1. Acai bowls. They complete my LIFE.
2. Meeting people from ALL over the world. Literally. Friday night, I went to the Filipino club and it changed my life. I love meeting and learning about new cultures.
3. Haliewa. The shops, shave ice, and mochi have me coming back for more. Love it.
4. Malasadas. They are absolutely delicious.
5. Eating Mango, Pineapple and Papaya.
6. Banana pancakes.
7. Learning how to speak pigeon.
8. Hawaiian sunsets.
9. Laying in the hammock in my backyard.
10. The ocean. The big, blue, beautiful ocean. I'm sure going to miss my nice, long beach days.

p.s. did you notice how most of the items on this list involve food? love it:)

Day 126: One Month Left.

rain, rain, go away!!

it's been raining nonstop this entire week. this is not okay. i leave for home in exactly one month today. i've made promises to people. like, that I was going to come back black. i am a lot tanner now than when i came, but I still feel that I am NOT tan enough to come back yet. so this rain better end. kthanks.

this past week, I have been talking to a lot of my good friends on the phone. I feel like you need to talk on the phone every once in a while instead of texting or facebooking them. there's something different about a phone call, and I actually prefer hearing their voice on the other line. it makes the conversation 0328570 times better. each conversation with my friends was really good and I miss them all terribly.

yesterday was may 1, so I've been thinking a lot about what this month holds for me. I only have a month left of school. which means, a month left of stats. yes:)

I'm missing out on 4 weddings of 4 really good friends of mine back home this month. I was wondering if staying was the right thing to do. But this week answered that question for me. I am suppose to be here, in Hawaii, right now. I was reminded that everyday this week and I'm grateful for that knowledge.

I am however, very excited to see my family and friends on the mainland again.

Day 119: Statistics is now my life.

How I have missed the sun!!!!

Last week was the first week of school. I'm taking Stats and Fit for Life. I'm excited to get in shape for Fit for Life and I can tell that I've already lost some inches from doing Jillian's 30 Day Shred, which is good news.

I am NOT excited for Stats.

Can I just say that my Stats teacher is quite possibly the WORST teacher I have ever had? Ever? And that's saying a lot. I've had some pretty terrible teachers in the past.

I'm not good at Math. It just doesn't click for me. I need to be taken step by step to understand the problem. He just assumes we know it all already. He throws equations up on the board and thinks we know what they are meant for and how to use them. He also says he's too lazy to explain. What the eff...

Also, did I mention that I have homework due every day for this class? Including Saturday? I never get a break. I guess that's what I get for taking a term class.

So this whole week has been full of Stats. I've spent who knows how many hours trying to learn on my own because he doesn't teach in class. At least I have a friend who helps me. Thank Goodness.

Friday was the first sunny day we've had in 2 weeks. What was I doing Friday? Stats. asdfjkl;

But Saturday came and I spent 3 hours at the beach soaking it all in. It was there that I forgot about Stats. My stress went away. I was lying there listening to the ocean, getting tan. I didn't have a worry in the world. I came home a lot darker and a lot happier than when I left. The beach is quite possibly my favorite place in the entire world. It's this place where you can go and just forget about everything. You can look out and see nothing but blue. It looks like if you went as far as you can see, you'd fall off the earth. It soothes me and takes away all my stress.

I'm not sure how I lived without it. And I'm not sure how I will when it's gone.
